Connect Notion Datasources to Widgets

Map Notion datasource properties to Blocky chart, flashcard, and quote widgets.

Supported datasource widgets

Blocky datasource mapping is available for:

  • Chart widgets.
  • Flashcard widgets.
  • Quote widgets.

Charts use datasources by default in the create flow. Flashcards and quotes can opt in or use manual data.

Connect a Notion datasource to a chart widget

  1. Open Create Widget.
  2. Choose Chart.
  3. Pick a chart type and variant.
  4. Choose a Notion Datasource.
  5. Set Label Field to a text property.
  6. Set Value Fields to one or more number properties.
  7. Create the editor session.
  8. Preview the chart and adjust chart style options.

Connect a Notion datasource to a flashcard widget

  1. Open Create Widget.
  2. Choose Study → Flashcards.
  3. Pick a variant.
  4. Turn on Add Datasource.
  5. Choose a Notion Datasource.
  6. Set Question Field to the question text property.
  7. Set Answer Field to the answer text property.
  8. For the quiz variant, set Options Field if you want choices from Notion.
  9. Create the editor session and preview the cards.

Connect a Notion datasource to a quotes widget

  1. Open Create Widget.
  2. Choose Misc → Quotes.
  3. Pick a variant.
  4. Turn on Add Datasource.
  5. Choose a Notion Datasource.
  6. Set Quote Field to the quote text property.
  7. Set Author Field to the author text property.
  8. Create the editor session and preview the quote widget.

Refresh datasource properties

If a Notion property is missing, refresh datasources and select the datasource again. Blocky fetches text properties for labels/questions/answers/quotes/authors and number properties for chart values.
