Edit a Widget Inside the Embed

Use a Blocky private embed link to edit widget data, config, style, datasource, and background from inside Notion.

Requirements

Embedded editing uses the private embed route and subscriber actions. Use the private link from the widget card if you want edit controls inside Notion.

Edit from a private embed

  1. Embed the widget with the Private link.
  2. Open the Notion page that contains the embed.
  3. Hover over or focus the widget frame to reveal actions.
  4. Choose Edit.
  5. Update general, data, config, style, or datasource fields.
  6. Save the changes.

Other private embed actions

Private embeds can also expose:

  • Change background for the embed frame.
  • Refresh data for datasource-backed widgets.
  • Edit embed for quick widget changes without opening the full dashboard.

When to use the full editor instead

Use the dashboard editor when you are changing the widget type, testing a new variant, importing a widget code, or doing larger redesign work. Use embedded editing for quick changes from the Notion page.
