How to Create and Use Notion Widget Codes in Blocky

Learn how to generate, share, and import Notion widget codes in Blocky to duplicate styles, themes, and designs without sharing your data.

How to Create and Use Notion Widget Codes in Blocky

Widget Codes in Blocky let you share and reuse widget designs including colors, themes, and chart styles without sharing any of your Notion data. Think of them like Notion templates but for your widgets.

You can use Widget Codes to:

  • Duplicate a widget style you’ve created for faster setup.
  • Share a favorite theme with friends or the Blocky community.
  • Quickly apply custom chart styles to a new dataset.

Note: Widget Codes only store the widget’s design settings - no Notion content or personal data is included.

How to Create a Widget Code

  1. Go to Your Dashboard In your dashboard, locate the widget you want to share or duplicate.

  2. Open Widget Actions Click the ⋯ (three dots) menu on the widget card.

  1. Open the Widget Editor Navigate to the widget you want to style.

  2. Click the Import Button In the editor toolbar, click the < > code tag icon at the bottom.

    Import widget code dialog
  3. Paste Your Code Enter your widget code (it will always start with blocky_so_) and click Import.

  4. Matching Rules The imported code must match:

  • The category (e.g., charts, timers, study, misc)
  • The widget type (e.g., radar, countdowns, stopwatch, pomodoro)
  • The variant (e.g., normal, retro) If it doesn’t match, you’ll see an Invalid Code message.

Tips for Sharing Widget Codes

  • You can post them in your community, social media, or send directly to a friend.
  • Pair your Widget Code with a screenshot so others can preview the style.
  • Treat them like templates: import, tweak, and make them your own.
